Semi-active dampers respond to various load cases
Munich, Vienna. Vienna has a new landmark – at least one half of it: the Danube City Tower 1 protrudes 220 m into the air. Winds let the tower vibrate constantly, moreover in the Vienna region storms or even earthquake have to be considered. A 300 ton mass pendulum balances the vibrations. The special: unique semi-active dampers continuously adapt to the occurring load cases and respond with an adapted force. This control system brings about unique performance, which in this dimension only MAURER can execute.
